SERENADA CONTENT & COMMUNITY RULES

Purpose

Serenada exists to help artists and fans discover, share and support music.

These Content & Community Rules (“Rules”) are intended to protect the integrity of the platform, support artistic expression and maintain a safe, lawful and respectful environment for all participants.

By using Serenada, all Users agree to comply with these Rules.

Artistic Expression

Serenada supports artistic freedom and recognises that music and art are forms of expression.

Art may explore difficult, controversial, emotional, political, religious, cultural or challenging subjects. Content may contain themes, language, imagery or viewpoints that some individuals find offensive, uncomfortable or disagreeable.

The existence of offence alone does not necessarily constitute a violation of these Rules.

When assessing content, Serenada may consider context, artistic intent, presentation and purpose alongside the content itself.

However, artistic expression does not exempt content from these Rules. Content that constitutes unlawful activity, targeted harassment, hate speech, fraud, impersonation, exploitation or other prohibited conduct may be removed regardless of artistic intent.

Hate Speech and Hate-Based Conduct

Serenada does not permit content that promotes, advocates, glorifies or encourages hatred, discrimination or violence against individuals or groups based on protected characteristics.

Protected characteristics may include:

  • Race

  • Ethnicity

  • Nationality

  • Religion

  • Disability

  • Sex

  • Sexual orientation

  • Gender identity

  • Age

  • Other characteristics protected by applicable law

Prohibited content includes:

  • Calls for violence against a protected group

  • Promotion of racial superiority or inferiority

  • Dehumanising language directed at a protected group

  • Advocacy of exclusion, segregation or discrimination

  • Content created primarily to spread hatred against a protected group

  • Support for extremist organisations whose purpose includes hatred, discrimination or violence against protected groups

When assessing content, Serenada may consider artistic, journalistic, educational, historical and cultural context.

Discussion, criticism, satire, storytelling, documentary works and artistic exploration of difficult subjects will not automatically constitute a violation of this section.

However, content whose primary purpose is to promote hatred, discrimination or violence may be removed regardless of artistic presentation.

Respect the Community

All Users must treat others with respect.

You must not use Serenada to:

  • Harass, threaten or intimidate others

  • Promote violence against individuals

  • Engage in targeted abuse

  • Encourage unlawful activity

  • Engage in sustained bullying or harassment

  • Publish content intended primarily to cause harm or fear

Rights and Ownership

Artists may only upload content where they possess the necessary rights, permissions and authority.

This includes:

  • Sound recordings

  • Musical works

  • Artwork

  • Images

  • Video content

  • Branding assets

  • Names, likenesses and other protected material

You must not upload:

  • Copyright infringing material

  • Unlicensed recordings

  • Unauthorised remixes

  • Unauthorised samples

  • Stolen artwork

  • Content that infringes the rights of another party

Artists remain responsible for ensuring that all necessary rights and permissions have been obtained.

Authenticity

Users must accurately represent themselves.

You must not:

  • Impersonate another artist

  • Impersonate a rights holder

  • Impersonate an organisation

  • Create misleading identities

  • Misrepresent ownership of content

  • Submit false information during onboarding, verification or payment processes

Fraud, Manipulation and Abuse

Serenada is built upon genuine engagement, accurate reporting and fair compensation.

The following conduct is prohibited:

  • Artificial stream generation

  • Stream farming

  • Bot activity

  • Purchased streams

  • Purchased engagement

  • Purchased followers

  • Fake accounts

  • Referral manipulation

  • Self-referrals

  • Payment fraud

  • Royalty fraud

  • Artificial inflation of platform metrics

  • Attempts to manipulate recommendations, discovery systems or reporting systems

Any activity designed to generate artificial royalties, referral earnings, engagement or platform benefits is prohibited.

Illegal Content

You must not upload, distribute or promote content that violates applicable law.

This includes content connected to:

  • Fraud

  • Money laundering

  • Terrorism

  • Child exploitation

  • Criminal enterprises

  • Unlawful distribution of protected works

Serenada reserves the right to cooperate with law enforcement, regulators and competent authorities where required by law.

AI Music Policy

Serenada is a platform for human creativity.

Music distributed through Serenada must be predominantly created by a human creator.

The composition, structure, creative direction and final artistic output must be led by a human artist.

Technology may support the creative process but must not replace the artist as the primary creative force.

The following content is prohibited:

  • Music created entirely or primarily through prompts or automated AI generation

  • Music where AI acts as the primary composer, performer or creative driver

  • Music generated end-to-end with minimal human creative input

  • AI-generated imitations of identifiable artists

  • Synthetic lead vocals designed to replicate or closely resemble a real artist without permission

  • AI-generated content that infringes third-party rights

AI may be used as a supporting tool for:

  • Sound design

  • Audio processing

  • Editing

  • Mixing

  • Mastering

  • Vocal enhancement

  • Production assistance

The artist must remain the primary creative source of the work.

Artists remain responsible for ensuring all necessary rights and permissions have been obtained for AI-assisted content.

Explicit Content

Serenada permits artistic works that contain mature or explicit material, provided they comply with these Rules and applicable laws.

Artists are responsible for accurately identifying content that contains explicit material where appropriate.

This may include:

  • Strong language

  • Sexual themes

  • Drug references

  • Graphic or mature subject matter

  • Violence or disturbing themes

Failure to accurately identify explicit content may result in content relabelling, content restriction or other enforcement action.

Serenada currently operates as an 18+ platform.

If Serenada introduces access for younger audiences in the future, access to explicit content may be restricted based on age, account settings or applicable legal requirements.

Reporting Violations

Fans, Artists, Contributors and Rights Holders may report suspected violations of these Rules.

Serenada may investigate any report at its discretion.

Enforcement

Where Serenada reasonably believes that these Rules have been violated, it may take any action considered necessary to protect the platform, its participants or its legal obligations.

Such action may include:

  • Removal of content

  • Rejection of uploads

  • Restriction of account functionality

  • Suspension of accounts

  • Termination of accounts

  • Withholding of payments

  • Reversal of referral earnings

  • Freezing of disputed funds

  • Additional verification requirements

  • Restriction of platform access

Serenada may take action before completing an investigation where immediate intervention is considered necessary.

Appeals

Users may appeal certain enforcement decisions by providing supporting evidence through Serenada's designated appeals process.

Where enforcement action has been taken, Users will be notified by email. Appeals may be submitted by replying to that notification email within 14 days of receipt.

Submission of an appeal does not guarantee reinstatement of content, payments or account access.

Following review, Serenada's decision shall be final except where otherwise required by law.

Changes to These Rules

Serenada may amend these Rules from time to time.

Continued use of the platform following any amendment constitutes acceptance of the updated Rules.
